Foot outside

These feet of mine

Better days they have seen

Sweet days benign

When grass was green

These feet you see

Many paths they have walked

Then when ankles walked free

Many paths these feet have walked

These feet saw light

Before the envelop of shadows

But they were taken; light

Replaced; thick black shadows

These feet fight dark

To see the glimpse of dawn

Of their turmoil they bear the mark

Till the break of dawn

Yet before the break

The feet must fight

They must carry me bare past the muddy creaks

Past thick dark to the abode of light
