For the record umpteenth time, Arsenal beleaguered boss has again voiced out he tried to sign a player who later turned out to be a superstar. This time around he is no other than Malian descent Paris born blues midfielder, Ngolo Kante who plies his trade with Chelsea following a 32million pound summer switch from the king power stadium. Arsene Wenger has usual, this time around has come out to say he TRIED to sign Kante when he was at Caen, but lose him out to Leicester city. He admitted he TRIED again to sign him in the last summer but lose him out to their London rival, saying Roman Abrahimovic’s monetary prowess had the final say. I can’t help but laugh at the man’s foolhardy self. He signed Granit Xhaka for 30million pounds but couldnt afford Kante at £32 million. What stupidity! More to say, Kante was purchased by Leicester city for £5.6 in 2015. I bet Wenger can’t stop lying and admit his failures to secure prolific signings.
France enigmatic midfielder who operates in a defensive position in the middle of the park has been excellent so far this campaign as Chelsea march on to glory. Signed from the defending champions, Leicester city in the summer of 2016 by the blues new boss Antonio Conte who also arrived from Juventus, he has been a bright spark in the middle of the park for the billionaires club in this maiden campaign.
Chelsea finished outside of the top four and also missed out on European competition following a disastrous season under the tutelage of the self acclaimed “special one” in what was unarguably their worst season in a decade.
Jose Morinho was sacked and Italian gaffer Antonio Conte replaced him, signing Michi Batshuayi, Ngolo Kante and Marcos Alonso to bring the glory days back.
Following a few shaky result and switch in formation to the Louis Van Gaal philosophical 3:4:3, Chelsea has gone on to become the “hard to defeat mafia” in the premier league.
Back to the subject matter, in a switch of position, Leicester city “the runaway” last season Champions are now battling the tsunami of relegation which even prompted the uncalculated and uncalled for sack of tactician “Claudio Ranieri”.
Just a peep at the same guys from the Kings Power stadium who destroyed every opponent on the way last season and now trolled and trampled upon by any team this season(albeit Man city), just a player is missing- NGOLO KANTE.
He was one of their best players last season but now that just his loss dropped them from premier league champions to premier league relegators, it is safe and safe again to argue that he was their best player last year. Even the world greatest coach Sir (Dr) Alexander Chapman Ferguson proclaimed that “Kanté is by far the best player in the league” during Leicester’s Premier League title winning run.
Last season, individually he set a record high 175 tackles won and 157 interceptions of passes in the course of the campaign, more than any other player. Now, at a look back to the premier league table, Chelsea switched with Leicester city not just Ngolo Kante but also the league position and even the King power boys are way below what Chelsea were without Kante.
If I have always besmirched Arsene Wenger, I need to agree with him that the loss and signing of Ngolo Kante has a lot of say in the current premier league table.
The man who has the most tackle and interception last season has continued his fine form this season by shuttling out Mikel totally and ensuring Cesc fight with Nemanja for a starting shirt alongside him in the middle of the park. He is now an indispensable with the likes of Hazard, Alonso and Courtois. Diego Costa might be grabbing the headlines with his goals or Eden Hazard with his mesmerizing dribbles but the impact of Ngolo Kante has not gone unnoticeable.
They are very good in transition. I watched their game against Liverpool and Kante had a huge impact in their team. Its no coincidence that they are in the position that they are and Leicester were in the position they were last season.- Wenger.
Having noticed it himself and having witnessed at firsthand how Kante shuts out opponents and murders their attacks, the question is, was Arsene Wenger unforsighteful not to have noticed the genius in Kante? Just like he made to believe that “it’s no coincidence that Chelsea are where they are because they have him (Kante) and Leicester where they are without him”, I will like to believe, superstitiously that Arsenal would be where Chelsea is and end their long wait for a league title had it been they had managed to secure the service of the dark colored dwarfy midfield genius – Ngolo Kante.
Chelsea(63points) are currently top of the premier league table, safe with a wide margin of 10 points over Tottenham(53) and the other strugglers in the top 6 wrestling one another for a top 4 finish.
Ngolo Kante is now on course to make history as the first outfield player to win back to back premier league title with two different teams. He just won the London Player of the Year ahead the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Eden Hazard, Dele Alli, Harry Kane and others.
Any Arsenal fan out there?, rather than ache for the sack of “Baba Ijebu” should just telegram Wenger to redress the acne destroying the skin of the Gunner and splash the cash on we know who …NGOLO KANTE.
#just saying tho!
