The Faculty of Education on Thursday 27th, April 2017 organized debates among the departments in the faculty.
The debate which held between the hours of 3pm and 6pm had topics such as: Priority of Nigeria Government: Security or Education; Security Camera: An Abridge of Privacy and Education: A License To Wealth.
Also, there was a battle of words in the in-house debate between two debate groups: The Gladiators and The Titans.
The Gladiators had a total score of 78.5% while the Titans had 72.5%.
The departments that qualified for the next round were: LARIS, ASE, Early Childhood, Guidance and Counseling with Adult Education as the best loser.
The oratory contest with the topic: The 1914 Amalgamation: An Historical Mistake. The second runner up was LARIS with a total score of 78.6%. The first runner up was the department of Guidance and Counseling with the total score of 81.6% while the champion was the Department of Educational Management with the total score of 82.6%.
Certificates of participation were presented to all the debaters while awards were given to the overall best debater: Amuda Suliyat from the Department of Guidance and Counseling, best orator: Olanema David from the Department of Educational Management, overall best speaker: Adeyemo Toluwade from Department of Guidance and Counselling.
